Q&A: Supernova Remnants and Neutron Stars

            Q:
Thank you, can you please tell me what is the blue dot located
at approximately 8 o'clock to the supernova remnant: http://chandra.harvard.edu/photo/2002/0050/
      ?
               A:
The blue dot at about 8 o'clock in the N132D supernova remnant image is
indeed a real source. It may be a star that is part of an X-ray binary system
-- You can read more about these systems at: http://chandra.harvard.edu/xray_sources/binary_stars.html
... however, the exact nature of this source is currently under study!
