During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned. Real-time procedures were executed on Jul 2 to perform a routine self-check of the Electrical Interface Assembly (EIA) Sequencer and to perform a diagnostic dump of the Control Processing Electronics (CPE). A Chandra press release was issued on Jun 30 describing observations of the Bullet Cluster using Webb and Chandra data. The new Webb observations refine the mass of the observable galaxies by using more lensed background galaxies than previously possible. Viewed as a whole, the new measurements significantly refine what we know about how mass is spread throughout the Bullet Cluster. One of the two component subclusters in this post-collision cluster has an asymmetric elongated area of mass along the eastern edge, which is a clue pointing to previous mergers in that cluster.
