This image includes data from NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory (two inset boxes top right) in context with a larger field optical image of GRB 150101B from the Hubble Space Telescope below. The main panel has a purple, cream and black color scheme overall. In the center of the image, there is a bright white and cream extended spot, which is the optical data of the source. The two insets show two bright purple spots near each other at 7 and 1 o'clock, with the first frame showing the lower spot brighter than the second frame. The dates of the two Chandra frames are a month apart, from January 2015 to February 2015, showing how the source faded over time - a key piece of information.
