Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 23 July 2010 9.00am EDT

During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

A real-time procedure was executed on Jul 22 to update the on-board ephemeris.

A Chandra press release was issued on Jul 21 describing evidence that the spin axis of the supermassive black hole in the galaxy 4C+00.58 has been changed twice. This discovery, made with data from Chandra and the VLA, might explain several mysterious-looking objects found throughout the Universe. For details see: http://chandra.harvard.edu/press/10_releases/press_072110.html

Of note this week was the release of CIAO 4.2 Sherpa version 2 on Jul 19.

The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes observations of GX13+1 coordinated with RXTE and an observation of TOO_XTEJ1752-223 coordinated with the VLA.
