Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 24 September 1999 9.00am EST

During the last 24 hours the Observatory continued with the GTO program targets including Abell 3667, SS 433, Cygnus X-2 and Capella with ACIS-S and the High Energy Transmission Grating. In addition to the science observations, a software patch to the aspect camera was uplinked and verified. The patch will ensure appropriate margin in detecting fiducual lights given the actual on-orbit background radiation environment. The spacecraft systems continued to operate nominally.

The fourth eclipse of this first season will occur at 8.55PM 9/24 and last for 69 minutes. The eclipse entry and exit will be monitored in real-time. The next mission schedule will be reviewed during 9/24 and command loads ready for uplink prior to the completion of the current load at 5.30PM 9/25.
