Operations CXO Status Report

Tuesday 10 August 1999 7.00am EST

The following is an overview of the events that occurred over the last 24 hours.

Initiated ACIS background measurement calibration following ACIS detector cooldown.

Successfully completed loading both on board computers (OBC's) with the "on-orbit load" flight software that will be used throughout the remainder of the mission. One important by product of this activity was the opportunity to activate and use the CPE safemode computer for a short period of time. This gives increased confidence in this system, should it be needed in the future.

Events scheduled for the next 24 hours
  • Continue ACIS background measurement calibrations.
  • Gyro Low Rate Bias Determination.
  • Open Aft Contamination Door.
  • Earth Scans for attitude reference updates.
