Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 10 January 2008 8.00am EST

During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

A real-time procedure was executed on Jan 8 to perform a routine self-check of the Electrical Interface Assembly (EIA) Sequencer.

A Chandra press release was issued on Jan 10 in conjunction with the AAS describing data that provides one of the best pieces of evidence yet that many supermassive black holes are spinning extremely rapidly. For further details see: http://chandra.harvard.edu/press/08_releases/press_011008.html

The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes observations of APM 08279+5255 and LSR0602+3910 coordinated with ground-based optical telescopes.
